Communist NYC Mayoral Candidate Has Disturbing Past, Present & Trajectory

After former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo conceded his place in the race to be the Democrat Mayoral candidate of New York City, former rapper and communist Zohran Mamdani, officially took the position.
In addition to the 33-year-old state representative’s pro-Islamist positioning, his policies for NYC have peaked some intense concerns from those within his own party to those in the business sector. Such policies include the creation of city owned grocery stores, funding child sex changes, putting a “freeze” on rent and raising minimum wage to $30.
Mamdani’s Disturbing Past
The representative of NY’s 36th district, Zohran Kwame Mamdani is an American politician who has served as a member of the New York State Assembly from the 36th district since 2021. A member of the Democratic Party and the Democratic Socialists of America, he is the presumptive Democratic nominee for mayor of New York City in the 2025 election.
Born in Uganda, Mamdani immigrated to the United States at the age of seven, graduating from Bowdoin College in 2014. And whilst he has sought to use his immigrant status as a key portion of his campaign’s outreach, it would appear as though it is being used to distract voters from some of the disturbing portions of his history since being in the United States.
One important part of the candidate’s past is that whilst he was still in college, he started a chapter of ‘ Students for Justice in Palestine,’ a group that is currently a part of an investigation by the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions for their connection to the American Muslims for Palestine and the possible link to Hamas.

Mamdani hasn’t disowned this connection, in fact, it’s currently on his government website.
This connection isn’t just some menial, innocent action nor connection of someone who was easily persuaded in his youth as it has been given forward motion, carrying well into the formation of Mamdani’s life.
“Too Extreme” Says Fellow Democrat
Democrat Representative Laura Gillen has gone on record waring that Mamdani is “too extreme to lead” NYC.

“Beyond that, Mr. Mamdani has called to defund the police and has demonstrated a deeply disturbing pattern of unacceptable antisemitic comments which stoke hate at a time when antisemitism is skyrocketing,” Gillen continued. “He is the absolute wrong choice for New York.”
When players within your own camp start waving the red flag of caution about one of their own, it’s important to pay attention.
Mamdani’s RED FLAG FUNDING
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has quietly put $100,000 behind Mamdani’s bid for mayor. The issue with this isn’t merely the money itself, but rather, with CAIR’s connection to the candidate; a candidate who has proudly defended the phrase ‘Globalize the Intifada’ in the not so distant past.
CAIR is a group of concern as it was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terror-financing trial in U.S. history: the Holy Land Foundation case, where prosecutors proved the group funneled money to Hamas, a designated foreign terrorist organization by the U.S. government. (Source: U.S. Department of Justice, 2007)
Multiple FBI field offices have also cut ties with CAIR following that specific case and only a couple years after the case was settled, an FBI letter made it clear that the Bureau had concerns about the group’s connections and would “not view CAIR as an appropriate liaison partner.”
CAIR has since fought to sanitize its image, but the truth will not be hidden with the following recently having been discovered:
- Its co-founder, Nihad Awad, publicly praised the October 7th attacks on Israeli civilians, saying “The people of Gaza have the right to self-defense.”
- The organization has refused to disclose foreign donors in a defamation lawsuit brought forward by a former employee. The group chose to settle instead of opening their books.
- The LA chapter of CAIR was flagged for over $7 million in “financial irregularities” tied to taxpayer-funded refugee aid.
CAIR financially supporting Mamdani’s bid for mayor isn’t much of a surprise as they both stand in support of globalizing the intifada, which raises the level of concern dramatically. When groups and individuals have proven extremist ties and then synch up to push forward an agenda into any level of American government and society, we cannot turn a blind eye to it, we must address it head on.
Why? Because the security of a nation isn’t defended nor furthered when we willingly choose to keep silent.
Mamdani’s RED FLAG STATEMENT
In an interview with ZETEO, Mamdani declared that if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came to NYC, he would have him arrested. Why? Because Mamdani believes NYC needs to abide by international law, which means he doesn’t see the city as abiding by state laws nor beholding to the U.S. Constitution. Talk about a major red flag.
Believe what you want about Israel and Netanayhu, this candidate admitted that the U.S. Constitution means nothing, and as we saw previously, him giving support those connected to Hamas is no biggey.
Impacts of Mamdani’s Policies: Wealth Flees
You know those socialistic policies Mamdani wants to implement? Taxing top earners who create jobs and feed the economy, “freezing” rent, creating government grocery stores and so on? Those very policies are paving the way for wealthy New Yorkers to leave.
In an interview with New York Post, Ryan Serhant, a luxury real estate agent, was flooded with calls from clients looking to walk away from deals to buy apartments in NYC and are now looking to purchase property outside the city. “My number one job will be moving people from New York to Florida,” Serhant said. “Based on the results, clients are going to hold off on making any kind of investment in New York City.”
:rotating_light: JUST IN: The low income people in New York City voted en masse AGAINST the guy who promised to create government-run grocery stores and “freeze” the rent.

Billionaire John Catsimatidis owns the Manhattan-based grocery chain Gristedes and has threatened to leave the city if Mamdani wins.
Joining the chorus of concern is Tom Grech, president of the Queens Chamber of Commerce, who stated that “A $30 minimum wage increase is unsustainable.”
Meanwhile, Frank Garcia, national chairman of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce said Mamdani is “like Bill de Blasio, he’s anti-business.”
As if Mamdani’s brutal socialist policies wouldn’t cause a steep enough decline in the city’s standards and function on their own, high earners and developers deserting NYC would mean the smallest percentage of top earners would bear the brunt of the tax burden, most likely driving them out of the city as well.
This exodus would prove problematic as the campaign’s platform needs to tax corporations and the top 1% in order to move forward with “freezing” rent in the city, another campaign promise. But if there’s no one (or very few) wealth generators left to tax, the platform falls apart, or, the middle and lower classes get passed the financial burden.
So “freezing” rent? Wouldn’t work. Taking the wealth of top earners in order to fund government programs? Complete flop.
In addition to the brutal fiscal policies of the campaign, the social elements make this trainwreck comical. One example is Mamdani’s plan to make NYC an LGBTQ+ sanctuary city by expanding so-called “gender affirming care” (aka mutilating surgeries and the provision of puberty blockers, etc), and creating an official office of LGBTQIA+ affairs.

Why Leftists and Islamists Side Together
A Muslim who is a communist at heart may seem oxymoronic, but it has become more common than you might think.
In an interview with renowned filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza for his movie “Trump Card,” Imam Mohammad Tawhidi explained why radical Muslims consistently align with and vote for leftists.

The most simplistic explanation? They see liberals as naïve and easily manipulated. In contrast, they fear conservatives, who stand by firm principles and are much harder to influence.
This is why the Islamist comes alongside leftists, to engage their toxic empathy (look at those standing in solidarity with Hamas terrorists in Gaza), all whilst taking over their political parties and ordering their talking points in order to drive forward Islamist initiatives.
As Tawhidi explained, when he was a fundamentalist, he only voted for those on the left. Why? Because people like him (at the time) believed they were stupid, whereas he feared conservatives. The reason for this differentiation is due to conservative’s coming “with principle” and because that meant they aren’t “easy to brainwash,” Tawhidi explained.
“But the left,” he continued, “I know they have no values and no principles to begin with and they will fall in the track I set for them.”
This is why there are other extremist Muslims in the halls of government who advocate so ardently for the left’s positions, and yet, when it comes to them, they would never follow through on the positions they advocate for.
Take Ilhan Omar, dubbed “ISIS with lipstick” by Tawhidi. A radical Islamist in the U.S. Congress and yet, despite her pushing for abortion in America, would never seek out an abortion herself as killing another Muslim isn’t permitted. And do you know who is aligned with Omar? CAIR.
Birds of a feather flock together, isn’t that what they say?
Conclusion
And so, we come to the potential future of NYC under Mamdani if he wins, of course: it’ll be a toss up between the cause of Islam or the cause of communism, socialism and so-called progressivism being pushed first.
My guess, we’ll see an initial push towards the more communistic side of his handbook, and then, in comes the soft launch of a more Muslim centric agenda.
Understand, for the Muslim, this isn’t solely about politics, it’s about driving forward an ideology. Again, this might not come immediately, but just as the world has born witness to what has taken place in London, UK, with Mayor Sadiq Khan, it is a consistent drip that swiftly erodes.
So let the rise of this mayoral candidate be a wake up call to all Americans; whilst federal politics is substantiative but it is nothing compared to what happens on the local level of government. Sure, it’s not as splashy but it affects our everyday lives on a much more intimate level and it deserves our utmost attention.
