No Kings Protest Fueled By Democrats, Funded By Soros - Encounter Today - Blog

A wave of protests under the banner “No Kings” is sweeping across the United States, sparking heated debate and raising questions about its origins, funding, and true intentions.

The protests are a coordinated effort with ties to far-left groups, such as the Communist Party USA, and the movement appears to be gaining traction ahead of a planned “nationwide day of defiance” on June 14, 2025, coinciding with both Flag Day and President Trump’s birthday.

But what is the “No Kings” movement, who is behind it, and what does it mean for the country?

A Protest with Deep Roots

The “No Kings” movement first gained widespread attention through a series of striking full-page color advertisements in major newspapers, including The New York Times.

These ads, calling for Americans to mobilize in a display of “patriotism,” raised eyebrows for their provocative messaging and unclear funding sources.

According to Representative Anna Paulina Luna, the financial muscle behind these ads comes from billionaire Walmart heiress Christy Walton, a known donor to progressive causes, including the anti-Trump Lincoln Project. Walton’s involvement has fueled speculation about the movement’s deeper political motivations.

At the heart of the protests is Indivisible, a far-left activist group that has reportedly received $8 million in funding from George Soros’ Open Society Foundation between 2017 and 2023.

Indivisible, which has a history of opposing Trump’s policies, is spearheading the “No Kings Day” protests, framing them as a response to what they call authoritarian tendencies in the current administration.

Their executive director, Leah Greenberg, recently hosted a town hall to rally supporters, signaling a well-organized push to expand the protests nationwide.

The Key Players

Alongside Greenberg was one of the most prominent figures linked to the movement: Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and a board member of the National Democratic Institute (NDI).

The NDI, a taxpayer-funded organization tied to the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), has been accused by critics of promoting policies aligned with the Biden administration and globalist agendas. Weingarten’s involvement goes beyond symbolic support—she is actively hosting town halls to prepare for the June 14 protests, with the AFT listed as a “partner” of Indivisible’s nationwide effort.

Critics argue that the choice of June 14 as the protest date is no coincidence. Beyond its significance as Flag Day, it is also President Trump’s birthday, a detail that organizers appear to be leveraging for maximum symbolic impact. The movement’s messaging, which cloaks itself in patriotic rhetoric, is merely a veneer for an anarchistic agenda aimed at destabilizing the country.

A Federal Response Looms

The protests come at a time of heightened tension, particularly in Democratic strongholds labeled as “sanctuary” cities.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is reportedly preparing to deploy tactical units to five such cities—Chicago, New York City, Seattle, Philadelphia, and parts of Northern Virginia—in response to escalating unrest.

The move follows chaotic scenes in Los Angeles, where protests over the past five days spiraled into riots, prompting President Trump to deploy 2,000 National Guard members and over 700 active-duty U.S. Marines to restore order.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has sharply criticized the federal response, accusing Trump of acting like an “authoritarian” by deploying forces without consulting state law enforcement.

In a fiery statement, Newsom called the deployment of National Guard and Marines “illegal” and unwarranted. In response, Trump released details of a 16-minute phone call with Newsom, during which he urged the governor to regain control of Los Angeles streets.

A Nation on Edge

As the “No Kings” protests are unfolding one thing is certain, these protests aren’t organized, they’re a deeply coordinated effort to provoke turmoil and undermine the Trump administration.

The involvement of groups like Indivisible, with their history of Soros-backed activism, and the timing of the protests on a symbolically charged date, only add fuel to the fire.

As June 14 approaches, all eyes are on the planned protests and the federal response. With ICE units on standby and the National Guard already mobilized in Los Angeles, the potential for further escalation looms large.

Whether the “No Kings” movement will spark a broader reckoning or fizzle out remains to be seen, but its impact is already being felt across the nation.

Be on guard in prayer, seeking the good of the nation in which we live.
