Islamic City in Texas Under Investigation

Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton have launched multiple investigations into a housing development in the heart of Texas that would put Islam at the center of the entire project.
The project, which is spearheaded by the East Plano Islamic Center, is a 402-acre development located near Josephine, Texas that would feature a mosque, single- and multifamily homes, a community college, schools, businesses, a school and parks. The project is called “EPIC City.”

The project’s website states: “Realizing that many responsible citizens of other countries might be interested in our properties, our offering is open to any person we approve within the property and investment laws of the United States,”
“[We] will limit sales to only persons we believe will contribute to the overall makeup of our community and are legally eligible to invest and buy property in the United States.”
These statements clearly go against both federal and state laws as excluding individuals from purchasing property on the basis of their religious identity is a violation of the Fair Housing Act.
Governor Abbott has since launched five investigations into EPIC City, the East Plano Islamic Center and the investment group at the helm of the project, Community Capital Partners.
Abbott says the project is guilty of promoting Sharia law and “Sharia cities” — referring to a body of religious laws that form parts of the Islamic traditions which stand in direct opposition to the U.S. Constitution, as well as other violations.
Today, Governor @GregAbbott_TX announced that EPIC City may not begin construction.@TCEQ found that the group behind the proposed EPIC compound did not submit the required permits to begin construction.

The land purchased for EPIC City was purchased by Community Capital Partners (CCP), a for-profit entity, which released a promotional video that revealed their intent to put Islam, which upholds Sharia law, at the forefront of the project.
In a video of Imran Chaudhary, President of Community Capital Partners, Chaudhary is seen speaking against following U.S. law and instead instructing Muslims to follow Sharia law, “to believe that it is permissible to follow … a system of laws other than the Sharia negates one’s testimony of Islam.”
Meanwhile, Yasir Qadhi, a Pakistani-American imam and theologian, openly declared that Muslims will not accept what he calls “second-class citizenship,” framing criticism of Muslim-centric developments or Islamic expansion as “lies” and “slander,” accusing critics of racism and “Islamophobia”—a term invented by the Muslim Brotherhood.

In one of the most sobering testimonies against the EPIC City Islamic enclave, a Dallas resident delivered a powerful warning drawn from personal experience:
“I spent three years living and working in the Middle East.… pic.twitter.com/bBjfFCtL0Q
At an hours long council meeting, dozens of people from Collin County and the surrounding area shared their thoughts on the new housing development.
Barbara Isaacs, a Texas resident spoke out at the town meeting stating, “This isn’t isolated — it’s a statewide takeover.”
“EPIC City isn’t a one-off. There are nearly identical Islamic enclave developments quietly advancing in Blue Ridge, Celeste, St. Paul, Aubrey, Sachse, McKinney, and Frisco—and they’re all connected through a group called Community Capital Partners.”
Isaacs warned these are not normal housing developments, saying, “I read the contracts myself. If you buy a home, you’re required to pay into their mosque and their Islamic school. These are not inclusive neighborhoods—they are self-segregated, religious enclaves.”
And Sharia law is outlawed in Texas under a law I signed in 2017.

Texas is investigating EPIC City for many allegations, including attempts to circumvent that law.
All entities in Texas must follow state law, not Sharia law. https://t.co/lrlefjelOV
She also pointed to Paterson, New Jersey, where this agenda has already played out: “They took over the city council, the sheriff’s department, tore down the American flag, raised the Palestinian flag, and declared it the capital of Palestine in America.”
Pastors also got involved with Pastor Barney boldly addressing Collin County officials, condemning the EPIC City development as a direct threat to American freedom and the rule of law. “You must choose one or the other. You cannot have a Constitution and Sharia,” he stated.
Quoting America’s founding fathers, as well as Scripture, he warned that, “Sharia law is incompatible with our Constitution. It is not a religion of peace. It’s a system of control.”
He continued, “Romans 13 says governing authorities are appointed by God. I call on you to be strong and courageous. God has appointed you to this role—for such a time as this.”
Texas is a law-and-order state. Those scheming to evade law enforcement scrutiny must know justice is awaiting them.

That’s why I directed the Texas Rangers to fully investigate the group behind the proposed EPIC compound for potentially violating criminal law. pic.twitter.com/0hJx5AtnU8
The Texas Commission on Environmental Agency found that EPIC and her affiliated entities have not obtained the required authorizations or permits needed for construction, and as such, the group has been put on notice that they must cease construction of their illegal project or face the full weight of the law.
