Lawfare Targets France’s Marine Le Pen

As nationalism has its resurgence, leaders who are championing the cause have begun to arise, leaders such as France’s Marine Le Pen who was just barred from running for office and will see two years of jail time due to trumped up charges.
Le Pen has been convicted of “misusing” European funds for the national portion of her political party instead of the European portion of the party.
Eva Vlaardingerbroek, a news commentator who once worked in the European Parliament stated, “I dare to bet money on the fact that any judicial system in an European country would launch an investigation into left wing parties to see if they were doing that [what Le Pen has been accused of] let’s say, 80% of them would be found guilty of the same thing!”
Lawfare against the European right-wing is being taken to a whole new level.

Vlaardingerbroek went on to state that head of the European Parliament, Ursula von der Leyen, “is under investigation for corruption and refuses to disclose her text messages regarding a 35 BILLION euro deal with Pfizer and is currently the President of the European Commission.”

The conviction comes by way of the European Commission which is the executive branch, per se, of the European Union. And guess who is in charge of the European Commission? Ursula von der Leyen.
Although Le Pen’s conviction will be appealing the ruling, at present, it stands which means that she will not be permitted to run against sitting French President Emmanuel Macron in 2027 and several members of her party will also be barred from running for office.
A Dangerous Pattern Developing?
It turns out that American Vice President JD Vance was more than justified in his criticism of Europe’s descent into woke authoritarianism.
In four European countries thus far, candidates and parties have been banned from elections—sometimes even after winning the first round decisively. France has now joined that list.
First Trump, then the Romanian elections, and now Marine Le Pen. The Establishment hates threats to their power, and will engage in every kind of lawfare to eliminate those who dare to challenge it. pic.twitter.com/DR7cl3sbta

Those behind the conviction took a page out of the left’s tried and true playbook: use lawfare to prevent specific persons from running for office in order to crush the rise in movements that stand in opposition to our agenda.
Examples, you ask?
Brazil’s Bolsonaro, America’s Trump, Italy’s Matteo Salvini, Romania’s Calin Georgescu, to name just a few.
Democracy in 2025 is only “secure” to leftists if they can control and approve of who you are voting for.
