Wolves In Sheep’s Clothing: “Christian” Media Capture

A terrible, twisted web of leftist infiltration into “Christian media” has been exposed thanks to the work of DOGE cutting funding to USAID. Now that’s a sentence we never thought we’d be writing!

This exposure comes by way of Russell Moore, David French and Curtis Chang, all individuals who have been associated with Christian media, all of whom have been quietly funded by the left to penetrate church circles via their group called “Redeeming Babel.”

Data compiled by Data Republican shows that “Redeeming Babel” took $308K from the Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors Inc, as well as $200K from Defending Democracy Inc which has a curriculum call The After Party which was created to assist churches in pushing leftist ideology.

For anyone who doesn’t know, the Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors Inc isn’t exactly known for supporting Christian causes which is clearly seen in their multiple donations to pro-abortion groups.

So the curious question here is: why would a pro-abortion organization be funding a “Christian” group?

The second group we want to point out is Defending Democracy Together and their founder, Bill Kristol.

In a recent post on X by Kristol, he states that the “deep state is far preferable to the Trump state.” A curious post for a Christian, until we dig deeper and see that his group has also taken funding from the USAID funded Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors Inc organization!

Why would these groups take money from groups that have made it so obviously clear that they are against the cause of Christ?

Answer: To smear the credibility of fellow believers on the right of the political divide whilst propping up a culturally acceptable view of Christianity, a view that is devoid of the power of God and the values which are outlined in His Word.

An example of this comes by way of going after pro-America figureheads such as Lance Wallnau, claiming that he and others are guilty of “Christian Nationalism,” a term that has been used to demean those fighting for the restoration of American values.

As with many organizations, there is often one large group that receives U.S. taxpayer funding and from there, it is disseminated to many other groups.

The Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors Inc is a prime example of this as they have received a whopping $37.5 million dollars from American taxpayers and have since sent millions out to other groups, groups which can say they haven’t taken money from the U.S. government. It’s quite the money trail to follow.

Gaining Understanding

Bringing this into perspective for the believer, we have a few reasons to rejoice!

First, we are seeing the real time exposure of wolves in sheep’s clothing; of those who are seeking to deceive those searching for truth.

Secondly, we are seeing another layer of accountability for those in the public sphere, as well as those who desire to have influence in the kingdom of God.

Rooting out evil can take on many forms, so whether it be through the clean up of government agencies like USAID, through investigative journalism or through pastors behind the pulpit, we have reason to rejoice!

Conclusion

“And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage…” Galatians 2:4

The point of this story is simply this: our trust shouldn’t immediately reside in those who wear the banner of Christ, but rather, we should watch who they are, what they proclaim and the fruit of their lives.

We are called to be “as wise as serpents and as innocent as doves” as seen in Matthew 10:16 and in this age before the return of our Lord, how much more so!

This is also a call to be careful with how we live our lives which includes who we listen to and who we rely on for information.

Media is a powerful tool and watching over who we choose to absorb information from is becoming more and more important in a society that understands just how powerful information can be.

And finally, we hope that this story will serve as a point of awareness amongst the body of Christ that there are indeed those who would seek to corrupt the purity of the gospel message and would love nothing more than to see believers fall in line with a culturally acceptable view of the gospel message.
