Prophetic Implications Of Damascus Falling
Prophecy is unfolding before us as the fall of the ancient city of Damascus could occur at any moment.
The situation surrounding the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s regime and the Syrian government hold prophetic significance which should grip the attention of believers.
The prophet Isaiah forewarned the fate of Damascus in Isaiah 17:1 which states:
“The burden against Damascus: Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, and it will be a ruinous heap.”
Seeing as Damascus is one of the only remaining ancient cities that has never ceased to be inhabited, the fall of the city will most definitely usher in immense instability all throughout the region.
And this is where things start getting interesting…
Unsurprisingly, the nation of Syria has stood in opposition to the nation of Israel since 1948.
Despite this, Syria isn’t included in the Ezekiel 38 war which lists a group of nations that will join forces under the leadership of Gog from Magog, with the intent to invade Israel in the end times.
This coalition of nations is significant in prophecy, as it represents an alliance of nations from the north, east, and south converging on Israel.
