British Evangelist Stabbed & Imprisoned, Keeps Preaching - Encounter Today - Blog

An array of unimaginable persecution—beatings, angry mobs, unjust imprisonment, and even getting stabbed—have been the experiences Hatun Tash, an ex-Muslim who found faith in Christ, has faced due to her unwavering commitment to the Gospel.

And it’s all taking place in Britain.

Tash was born and raised as a Muslim in Turkey, but her journey to Christianity began after moving to England where she has since become incredibly outspoken about her faith in Christ, as well as her criticism of Islam.

Her criticism of Islam has made her a target.

Tash’s conversion to Christianity, which she shares of publicly, began when she started learning the truth about Islam and its prophet, Muhammad.

“As I read his biography, it disturbed me deeply. The man I had been taught to honor and love turned out to be, well, not good. That’s when I realized I couldn’t stay Muslim.”

Recently, Tash shared with CBN News that in the last four years, she’s had to move over 50 times due to security threats as Muslims are actively hunting her down with deadly intentions.

One man, who tried to kill her, is currently serving a 24-year prison sentence.

Tash began sharing the transformative message of Jesus in Speakers’ Corner at London’s Hyde Park, a famous spot for public debates between Muslims and Christians.

Her bold preaching and criticism of Islam have stirred anger among many Muslim communities throughout London.

Three years ago, she was slashed across the face with a knife by a man who has never been apprehended.

Despite this, she hasn’t backed down and has been unlawfully arrested multiple times.

Since her arrests, the London police have apologized and paid her damages twice for wrongfully arresting her, including an incident two years ago when she refused to leave the area where she was preaching.

None of this has deterred Tash.

She continues to preach the Gospel, even outside mosques, boldly telling Muslims, “Muhammad is a false prophet. Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

“Hundreds of Muslims stop and want to talk. Sometimes it gets dangerous, sometimes it leads to harm. Sometimes I end up in the hospital, sometimes in someone’s home for tea,” she recalls.

“I don’t care if they reject me,” Tash says. “They need to hear the Gospel.”

Despite the constant threats, Tash remains resolute:

“It’s dangerous. Should I stay silent? When people are spending thousands of pounds to buy a gun and kill me or my loved ones? The Gospel is too glorious to be silent about. God is the giver of life. When it’s my time, He will take me home. But as long as He gives me breath, I will continue to preach.”

May we all, regardless of where we are in the world, be as bold as Tash is, proclaiming the Gospel as the day draws closer to the return of Christ.

The fields are white and ready for harvest. The nations are at our doorstep. It’s time to get to work!
