What’s Next for Christians in America?
Regardless of who won on election night, we intended to print this article.
Why? Because, we are at a critical point in time in history!
Jesus is coming back soon and there is work to do which was made only too clear by the support antichrist agendas received at the ballot box!
We, the church, must step up and dominate in spheres of influence over these next four years and well beyond!
As such, here are four steps that each one of us, no matter our age or location, can plug in and do the work of the kingdom here in America:
Be Bold
“12 Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold.” 2 Corinthians 3:12
Our country has been shown mercy, an extension of time to freely share the Gospel.
In no way is this a time to become comfortable in the freedoms we know will be protected and furthered under this new administration, this is a time to push forward, to advance, and to take territory for the kingdom!
Boldness is necessary at this time as it will be in the future.
So now begin to exercise your God given right to free speech, free assembly and in teaching those in your own sphere of influence what it is to be a Christian who lives boldly by the Spirit of God!
Use Every Opportunity! Get Involved!
“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” Ephesians 5:15-17
Politics isn’t inherently evil, it’s a system to be used, so why wouldn’t Christians be involved in it?
If the people of God aren’t present in this sphere, others will be and their agendas don’t align with Biblical values!
We, the church, are the great restraint in these last days before the Lord’s return. We are meant to dominate and to take territory in the nations God has set us in, and this includes being active in the political sphere!
Plug into your local political party and influence policy for the kingdom!
Show up to city council meetings and sign up to serve on school boards!
Educate yourself on policies that don’t align with Biblical values and then meet with your elected officials and advocate for the Godly principles! In this way, we become those who carry solutions.
There is always an avenue for us to do kingdom work within the political sphere, and in doing so, we occupy spaces that the enemy (our true adversary) doesn’t want us in.
Pray For Our Leaders
“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2
Whether we like the leaders who have been elected on the state and federal levels, we are called to pray for those in places of authority.
- Pray for wisdom as they go about making policy decisions that will affect the nation.
- Pray for God’s protection over their lives and families.
- Pray that their hearts would be soft towards the things of God.
- Pray that they would be surrounded by Godly counsel.
- Pray that they would come to know the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ!
Hold Leadership To Account
If it is “we the people” who elected those who will now be heading to our state and nation’s capital to represent us, then it is “we the people” who must hold these individuals to account!
Alexander Hamilton cherished the idea of a citizenry engaged in governance.
Calling for active participation, he argued that apathy was a major threat to the survival of the republic.
All throughout his writings, he reminded us, the citizenry, of our role in shaping public policy and our duty to hold our leaders accountable.
Thank you for your support.
If you appreciate the work we do to spread the good news of Jesus Christ, please consider giving a gift to help us continue this work. Maranatha!
