Satanist Saved By Jesus In Prison
“I’ve seen the glory of God,” said Daniel, a former gang member and ex-satanist who spoke with God Behind Bars, a ministry that goes into America’s prisons to reach those whom society has forgotten.
“There is nobody greater. There is nobody more powerful, nobody more dangerous, which is good when you need a warrior on your side. He is a man of battle, for real,” Daniel said, “I’m all in about Jesus.”
This wasn’t always Daniel’s story, however.
“About a year ago is when God took me out of the satanic cult,” he shared. “I had been with the Lord before that, but I backslid and wasn’t involved in church anymore, so it was an accident that I became part of [the cult] when I was trying to learn deeper things.”
“[But] I’ve never seen anything better than what the Lord has revealed to me now,” he added.
Daniel’s story is one of many that has been compiled by God Behind Bars.
This ministry is making a profound impact in U.S. prisons by helping inmates find faith in Jesus Christ and discipling them both during incarceration, as well as after their sentence has been served.
Bringing hope into a dark place is what this ministry is doing.
The ministry aims to reach over 2.3 million incarcerated individuals through innovative programs, including satellite campuses in prisons and the PandoApp, which offers worship music and sermons via tablets.
Earlier this year, in a maximum-security prison in South Dakota, 25 men were baptized, including a former Wiccan leader and a man who is serving a life sentence who made the spontaneous decision to join in!
Adding to the litany of miracles, “216 inmates also came to hear the name of Jesus preached!!!” the ministry posted online about their visit to Crossroads prison in Missouri.
This meeting was “One of the largest attended services ever at this prison. One of the largest we have ever had,” they posted.
“BUT THE BEST NEWS is that 10 of these men gave their lives to Jesus! Attendance is suppose to double next week! This is our 69th prison launch! We are so excited about the God Behind Bars campus! WE ARE JUST GETTING STARTED!”
Another story is of a former inmate named Shannon who was on the brink of suicide and was inspired to live after receiving a care package from God Behind Bars.
This package of inspiration per se, led her to faith in Christ, baptism, and ultimately returning to the prison to share hope with others.
It’s clear to see that God is moving in these dark places where the lost reside and it is the people of God who are taking the truth and life and light of the Gospel into these spaces!
God Behind Bars is a revival movement within correctional facilities, with a mission to ensure every inmate has access to the Gospel.
Their commitment to healing trauma and breaking cycles of incarceration reflects a powerful hope for transformation.
