Kamala Harris Isn’t To Blame …For All Of It

Kamala Harris and Joe Biden aren’t entirely responsible for the FEMA funding disaster, Congress is also to blame.
The people of Lebanon are facing an increasingly dire humanitarian situation. I am concerned about the security and well-being of civilians suffering in Lebanon and will continue working to help meet the needs of all civilians there.
— Vice President Kamala Harris (@VP) October 5, 2024
To that end, the United States will provide…
Upon publishing a post on X announcing the release of nearly $157 million in “assistance to the people of Lebanon for essential needs such as food, shelter, water, protection, and sanitation to help those who have been displaced by the recent conflict,” Kamala Harris received intense backlash online.
*Please note, the $157 million adds to the additional $228 million that the Biden/Harris administration sent to Lebanon over the last year.
This announcement by Harris came shortly after the administration announced that $750.00 would be made available to assist Americans who were negatively affected by hurricane Helene.
And whilst many have focused on Harris’s tone-deaf post praising the efforts of the U.S. government funding a foreign nation who is in distress whilst her own countrymen are suffering, this isn’t solely on her.
As stated by James Madison in The Federalist #58, “The House of Representatives cannot only refuse, but they alone can propose, the supplies requisite for the support of government.”
Madison goes on to state this key factor, that “they [Congress]… hold the purse that powerful instrument by which we behold…”.
What he is talking about is the “power of the purse.”
The Power of the Purse
Our founding fathers made it abundantly clear that the House of Representatives are not only the originator of spending appropriations, but the sole authority over the allocation of funds. *Article 1 of the Constitution makes clear this fact.
One mistake many make is in believing the Executive Branch (the President) has veto power over appropriations bills – this doesn’t exist, only Congress has this power.
The power of the purse is strategically reserved for the House of Representatives as it is meant to help limit the size of government!
This responsibility is clearly being abused.
Allocating American money to fund other nations whilst our fellow man is in distress reveals just how misaligned our politicians’ priorities are.
Whilst many complain that this funding debacle is entirely Kamala Harris’s fault, when we look into our Constitution and how our system of government actually works, it is actually our elected representatives to whom we should be directing our questioning and concerns.
On this note, here are some of the various concerns over how our tax dollars are being used by our government to fund illegal aliens through FEMA and not our own citizens.
FEMA FUNDING…at least, some of it.
$104.6 Million for illegal aliens in New York City
$110 Million for the Emergency Food and Shelter Program to assist illegal aliens
$300 Million was allocated to illegal aliens through FEMA and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection via the Department of Homeland Security earlier this year.
And here is where Kamala Harris isn’t totally to blame…
Take the $300 million in grants through FEMA’s Shelter and Services Program, this money was authorized by Congress specifically for illegals.
Harris does have a significant part to play in this, however, especially as she is Biden’s “border czar.”
Both Harris and Biden have been aiding those illegally coming into our country through their open border policies.
One example of their policies at work is through their administration paying for 30,000 illegal aliens to be flown into the country each month! This isn’t the work of Congress, this is the Executive Branch’s doing.

The Biden-Harris admin is illegally importing 30,000 aliens every month on commercial flights directly into interior U.S. cities.
They have already imported nearly 500,000 aliens as of last month.

Recently, the White House has made known that FEMA now has personnel who will help to reimburse Democrat cities who are experiencing an influx of illegal aliens who are being shipped to them from Republican states.
But for victims and survivors of hurricane Helene? They’ll receive a mere $750. Meanwhile, nations around the globe like Lebanon and Ukraine, receive millions if not billions of our tax dollars.

Adding insult to the ongoing injury, White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre stated in a press conference that it is “categorically false” that FEMA uses it’s funding to resettle illegal aliens.
The media and Democrats are claiming that FEMA funds were never used for migrants.

What is “categorically false” is her statement as FEMA’s website clearly reads that they help illegal aliens.

To address the pressing issue, Representative Nancy Mace has come forward with a bill to end FEMA’s Shelter and Service Program which is one of the primary arms of the organization used to assist illegal aliens.

Conclusion
This story highlights our need to understand how our government works so that we can effectively bring solutions to those in office, as well as spur on others to hold those in office to account.
As believers, addressing the pressing issues of the day isn’t something to shy away from, we can ask God for the solutions to bring to those in authority!
