Ohio Footballers Preach To Hundreds
Some of the biggest stars on the Ohio State Buckeyes football team took to a stage on their university campus to preach the good news of the Gospel, testifying to how Jesus transformed their lives.
The Holy Spirit moved throughout the evening, drawing well over a thousand students who gathered well into the night.
Former Buckeyes wide receiver Kamryn Babb was interviewed by student reporters from The Lantern. Speaking about the event, he stated:
“I had fun. But at the same time, I didn’t recognize my condition. I was spiritually dead. I was spiritually dead. I could go out there, and I could smile and laugh. I can go back to the {Woody Hayes Athletic Center}, and smile and laugh. But on the inside, I was broken. I was broken.”
In an Instagram post by @cdubsmedia who covered the event, he stated: “Fall kickoff was an amazing event hosted by our current and former football players! Out of the 2,000+ students that showed up, we had 52 baptized and over 100 respond to the altar call starting their new lives with Jesus.”
In a viral video by TikTok user Kevin Walsh which captured powerful moments from the revival, he stated, “Countless attendees surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ, and professed their faith through water baptism.”

Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka expressed gratitude for the event: “We serve a miracle-working God… God did increasingly and abundantly more than what we thought.”
Additionally, offensive lineman Luke Montgomery emphasized his commitment to Christ, saying, “It’s the Lord’s way; it’s not mine. I pray about that a lot — every day before I run out past the red line.”
According to Grayce Banks, a second-year psychology student and a member of Campus Crusades for Christ, who was interviewed by The Lantern stated: “It’s their senior year, so TreVeyon Henderson, Emeka Egbuka, they were like, ‘You know what, we want to speak out in faith. We want to see what we can do to move on campus, to start a revival.’”
“And so, they came together, and then they brought a bunch of college ministries and churches … and really create a massive gathering for people to hear about the Lord and the love He has for everyone.”
Around 60 students chose to get baptized with 100 students giving their lives to the Lord!
Conclusion
God is moving amongst this next generation who is hungry for the things of God.
This generation has been labeled as the “Godless generation” and whilst there may be less people who know about Christ, there are those young persons who are burning with God’s love to see the lost found, to see the bound set free and for the Holy Spirit to have His way.
God is not done with this generation of Americans!
God will use anyone who is willing and submitted to him and as we’ve seen in Ohio, out of the mouths of football players who are willing to testify to His goodness, the harvest is indeed coming in and this is reason for us to rejoice!
