Israel Detonates 5,000 Hezbollah Pagers

Mossad, Israel’s spy agency, planted and detonated explosives that were concealed within 5,000 pagers held by Hezbollah operatives all throughout Lebanon.

The implantation of explosives began several months prior to Tuesday’s detonations, according to a Lebanese security source who spoke with Reuters.

Nine people were killed with nearly 3,000 being wounded, these numbers include Hezbollah fighters and Iran’s envoy to Beirut.

Pagers are a low-tech means of communication that have assisted the terrorist group in evading location-tracking by Israel.

The pagers were from a Taiwan-based company called Gold Apollo, however, the company has issued a statement saying it did not manufacture the devices but that a European company who has a licence to use their brand created them.

According to a senior Lebanese source, Mossad modified the pagers “at the production level” by placing roughly three grams of explosive materials into the pagers.

“The Mossad injected a board inside of the device that has explosive material that receives a code. It’s very hard to detect it through any means. Even with any device or scanner.”

Upon receiving a coded message, over 3,000 of the pagers exploded.

Israeli officials did not immediately respond to Reuters requests for comment. Images of destroyed pagers analysed by Reuters showed a format and stickers on the back that were consistent with pagers made by Gold Apollo.

Hezbollah, who is backed by the Iranian regime, stated Israel would face retaliation with another official from Hezbollah saying this was the “biggest security breach” since October 7.

“The resistance will continue today, like any other day, its operations to support Gaza, its people and its resistance which is a separate path from the harsh punishment that the criminal enemy (Israel) should await in response to Tuesday’s massacre,” Hezbollah said in a statement.

The region has been embroiled with conflict, however, since October 7th, the majority of the attention has been on the war in Gaza when there are pre-existing concerns that are extremely significant taking place at Israel’s northern border with Lebanon.

Why does any of this matter for those in the United States?

If Israel (our closest ally) goes to war with Iran due to this attack on Hezbollah or any other attacks to come, the United States could very well be dragged into a war with Iran as well.

Speaking U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated that the diplomatic window towards Hezbollah in Lebanon was closing.

Here are some key points to do so based on several biblical principles and passages:

1- Pray for Peace: Psalm 122:6 says, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you.”

This verse emphasizes the importance of seeking peace for Israel, particularly Jerusalem.

2- Support God’s Chosen People: Genesis 12:3 states, “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse.”

This verse indicates how we, as Christians, are called to support and pray for Israel as God’s chosen people.

3- Intercede for Salvation: Romans 10:1 reflects Paul’s desire for the salvation of Israel: “Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.”

As believers, we are encouraged to pray for the spiritual awakening and salvation of the Jewish people.

4- Pray for Leadership and Wisdom: 1 Timothy 2:1-2 advises believers to pray for kings and all those in authority. We need to pray for the leaders of Israel to have wisdom and guidance.

5- Pray for Fulfillment of God’s Promises: Isaiah 62:6-7 speaks of watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem, urging them to pray continually for its restoration and fulfillment of God’s promises.
