Sweden To Migrants, “Go Home!”
The Swedish government announced a new initiative offering certain migrants up to 350,000 Swedish kronor ($34,000) to voluntarily return to their countries of origin, starting in 2026.
This significant policy shift was revealed by Migration Minister Johan Forssell who declared, “we are in the midst of a paradigm shift in our migration policy.”
Immigration has been a contentious issue in Sweden in recent years with the “shift” in policy coming from the right-wing Sweden Democrats, (for North American readers, this is not to be mistaken as a political party with the same policy agenda as the Democratic Party in the U.S.).
The Sweden Democrats secured second place in the general election of September 2022 and although the Party didn’t form government, they’ve been able to support the administration led by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson of the center-right Moderate Party, which came in third in the election.
This new policy marks a substantial increase from the current government program that offers migrants significantly lower sums for return.
At present, the maximum payout is 10,000 kronor ($976) per adult, 5,000 kronor per child, and a total cap of 40,000 kronor ($3,903) per family. Despite this program being in place, only one migrant took part in it last year.
Enhancing the offer may be the necessary in order to attract foreigners living in Sweden to take advantage of the program, Ludvig Aspling, a lawmaker and spokesperson on immigration for the Sweden Democrats, suggests.
“The grant has been around since 1984, but it is relatively unknown, it is small and relatively few people use it,” Aspling stated.
Several other European countries have similar return schemes in place.
For example, Germany offers roughly $2,000, France provides $2,800, Norway gives $1,400, and Denmark offers more than $15,000.
For a brief time, the Swedish government has been tightening their asylum and immigration regulations which has resulted in the lowest number of asylum applications since 1997.
Up to July 28, Sweden had received 5,600 asylum applications, and Statistics Sweden anticipates that net emigration will be recorded for the first time in 50 years.
Interestingly, emigration numbers from specific countries has increased, mainly from those arriving from Iraq, Somalia, and Syria.
Conclusion
Many nations all throughout Europe are waking up to the reality that multiculturalism doesn’t work.
You simply cannot import persons with vastly different cultural values and belief systems and believe that they will magically assimilate into the cultural standards of the land whilst obeying its laws.
How can this be? Because, not every culture is equal. We cannot say that those nations living under Sharia law where women are beaten and Christians are murdered are equal to our Western societies founded upon the Judeo-Christian worldview.
Despite this truth, there is a fantasy amongst leftist of multiculturalism that carries with it disastrous consequences to which Sweden has awoken to.
Malmo, Sweden in particular, may have woken up the rest of Europe and is causing so many nations to shift on their migration and open border policies.
Why Malmo? It has become a no-go zone for Swedish police as it has been taken over by Isalmists who have implemented Sharia law. Journalists have tried covering what happens inside of Malmo and it is like stepping into another country.
Rapes, honor killings, theft and so many other horrific acts of crime are committed daily.
This is, ultimately, the result of politicians ushering in policies which stand in direct contradiction to the Word of God which clearly outlines how God was the creator of nations and has endorsed the nation state.
Policies which stand against those values which are provided to us in the Bible that are then carried out by people in government carry significant consequences, consequences which harm the economy, the culture and families.
All in all, we can see that which God has established will always best for all of humanity.
