Iran’s Demonic Obsession to Eradicate Israel
Iran’s aggressive stance towards Israel can easily be characterized as a demonic obsession which can be clearly seen in its unwavering hostility towards the Jewish state and her people.
Iran’s Hostile Objectives
The ideologically driven campaign against Israel by Iran’s leaders transcends conventional political conflict.
The country’s leadership, particularly the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), views the elimination of Israel as a central goal in its geopolitical strategy. This viewpoint is deeply embedded in the regime’s rhetoric and policies which are fueled by a combination of religious zeal and political ambition.

Recent statements from Iranian leaders and state media have explicitly called for the destruction of Israel which reflects a deeply ingrained and uncompromising belief system.
In addition to this, Iran’s support for militant groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas, which have been involved in numerous conflicts with Israel, is a further expression of the nation’s goals to erase Israel as a whole.
Here are just a few specifics of Iran’s demonic obsession with Israel:
Rhetoric and Public Statements:
- Denunciation of Israel: Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, have repeatedly called for the destruction of Israel. Ahmadinejad’s statements during his presidency, such as calling the Holocaust a “myth,” exemplify the extreme anti-Israel sentiment within the regime.
- Anti-Israel Slogans: The Iranian regime frequently uses anti-Israel slogans, including “Death to Israel,” as a rallying cry in public demonstrations and official statements.
Support for Militant Groups:
- Hezbollah: Iran provides substantial financial, military, and logistical support to Hezbollah, a Shiite militant group based in Lebanon. Hezbollah has engaged in numerous conflicts with Israel and is considered a proxy of Iran’s broader strategy against the Jewish state.
- Hamas: Iran also supports Hamas, the Palestinian Islamist group that controls the Gaza Strip and has been involved in multiple conflicts with Israel. Iran’s support includes funding, training, and military supplies.
Military Activities and Threats:
- Missile Development: Iran has developed a range of ballistic missiles capable of reaching Israel. The regime’s missile program is often justified as a deterrent but is viewed by many as a direct threat to Israeli security.
- Military Exercises and Threats: Iranian officials have conducted military exercises simulating attacks on Israel and have made threats about using their missile capabilities against Israeli targets.
Anti-Israel Policies:
- Diplomatic Stance: Iran has consistently opposed Israel in international forums and has used its influence to rally support against Israeli policies. This includes efforts to isolate Israel diplomatically and to challenge its legitimacy on the global stage.
Impact on Regional Dynamics
Iran’s aggressive posture doesn’t solely affect Israel, it also has significant implications for regional security.
The actions and rhetoric coming from the regime in Tehran contribute to heightened tensions in the Middle East, potentially destabilizing the region and sparking broader conflicts as relationships with other nations are constantly being tested.
Former U.S. Special Envoy for Monitoring and Combating Anti-Semitism, Elan Carr, has offered insights into the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel, arguing that the conflict is driven primarily by Iran’s ideological and geopolitical objectives.
He believes Iran’s leadership, particularly the IRGC, views Israel as a primary adversary due to a mix of religious extremism and strategic interests.
Iran’s regime is committed to the destruction of Israel, which it sees as a threat to its influence in the Middle East and as a target for its anti-Semitic ideology. This hostile stance fuels regional instability and complicates international efforts to achieve peace.
Carr sees the conflict between the two nations stemming all the way back to the time of Amalek who is depicted as a significant enemy of the Israelites. Here are key points about Amalek and the Amalekites:
Historical Background:
Descendants of Esau: The Amalekites are descendants of Esau, specifically from his grandson Amalek, making them distant relatives of the Israelites. This lineage is outlined in Genesis 36:12.
Conflict with Israel:
- First Encounter: The Amalekites first appear in the biblical narrative in Exodus 17:8-16. During the Israelites’ journey through the desert after their escape from Egypt, the Amalekites attacked them at Rephidim. The battle was significant as Moses, with the help of Aaron and Hur, held up his hands to ensure Israel’s victory.
- Divine Command: In Deuteronomy 25:17-19, God commands the Israelites to remember the attack by the Amalekites and to wipe out the Amalekites in future generations as a punishment for their hostility.
Symbolism:
- Symbol of Evil: Throughout Jewish tradition, Amalek has come to symbolize the archetypal enemy of the Jewish people, embodying the forces of evil and opposition to God’s people. This is reflected in various prophetic writings.
- Ongoing Threat: The notion of Amalek as an eternal enemy is carried forward in later texts, where the term “Amalek” is used symbolically to describe any persistent and malevolent enemy of the Jewish people.
The ideology of Iran’s leaders, through their rhetoric and policies, embody a contemporary manifestation of Amalek-like hostility whether it be seen in their religious extremism or through their strategic threat to the nation.
Conclusion
Regardless of the demonic obsession the leaders of Iran have with Israel, we know that God will always defend her against all her adversaries as this is rooted in His covenant with the Jewish people and prophetic fulfillment.
The ongoing protection and survival of Israel isn’t coincidental but evidence of God’s faithfulness to His covenant with Abraham and his descendants.
Zechariah 2:8: “For this is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘After the glorious one has sent me against the nations that have plundered you— for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye.’”
Isaiah 54:17: “No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me,’ declares the LORD.”
Psalm 121:4: “Indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.”
