“Husband” and “Daughter” Offensive in Biden Admin
In the name of “inclusivity,” the Biden Administration, through the U.S. Department of the Interior has unveiled a comprehensive language guide for bureaucrats to adopt non-gendered language across all communications.
Terms such as “husband” and “daughter” have been deemed exclusionary, and as such, have been replaced with non-gendered terms. If we’re dealing within the realm of reality, however, this move by the Biden administration isn’t just exclusionary but discriminatory.
The document, obtained exclusively by The Daily Wire, outlines a series of recommendations for federal employees to follow when discussing gender and sexuality.
Titled the “U.S. Department of the Interior Inclusive Language Guide,” the 24-page publication, marked “for official use only,” introduces guidelines on linguistic choices intended to replace traditional gender-specific terms with more inclusive alternatives.
Terms like “husband” and “wife” are advised to be replaced with “spouse,” “partner,” or “significant other.”
Similarly, “daughter” and “son” should be substituted with “child” or “kid.”
The guide also suggests replacing terminology such as “cockpit” with “flight deck,” demonstrating a broader effort to “modernize” language within bureaucratic contexts.
Beyond these changes, there is a call to adopt “identity-first” language, preferring constructions like “a person who is blind” over “blind person,” and “a child with an amputation” instead of “amputee.”
As if the guide couldn’t get any worse and, let’s be truthful, utterly degrading, it also recommends that “they/them” pronouns are used when referring to individuals whose gender identity is unknown, if engaged in conversation where hypotheticals are at play or if an individual says they are gender nonconforming (in other words, they have gender confusion).
Using “they/them” pronouns is more inclusive, according to the guide, seeing as “he or she” pronouns exclude those who do not identify within a binary gender framework. If we could insert an eyeroll emoji here, we would.
“Opposite sex” and “opposite gender” have also been kicked to the curb whilst speakers addressing crowds have been advised not to welcome people with “ladies and gents” and instead to say “hey team.”
The specificity in pronoun usage is also discussed in the report which rejects the term “preferred pronouns” as it suggests that gender identity is a matter of choice, instead, bureaucrats are to promote the use of “pronouns” or “identified pronouns.”
Advancing what is known as “DIE” (Diversity, Inclusion and Equity) has been an agenda item of the Biden administration, and as such, there has been an intensive push throughout government agencies to institutionalize these principles of discrimination.
The guide also suggests elimination the following words and phrases as originally reported by The Daily Wire:
- Replace “Aunt/Uncle” with “Parent’s sibling”
- Replace “male” with “all genders”
- Replace “ladies” with “everyone”
- Replace “gay” with “LGBTQIA+ person”
- Replace “transgender” with “transgender person”
- Replace “opposite sex” with “different sex”
- Replace “woman/women” with “person, people, individual, individuals”
- Replace “sex change” with “transition”
- Replace “father/mother” with “parent, caregiver, care provider”
Conclusion
Honestly, who even has time to come up with such a list of grievances and secondly, aren’t there more important issues at play within our government than policing pronoun usage and being the arbiter of terminology?
The type of language seeking to be blotted out is telling of the agenda behind this administration. There is a deep seated disdain for that which is good, and that which is good is not only the roles but the titles those roles are distinguished by such as “husband” and “wife” and “daughter” and “son.”
All of these roles and their subsequent titles are significant to any society as they signal that which is a part the God ordained structure of the family unit.
