Italy’s Meloni Combats G7 Abortion Agenda
In the final diplomatic meeting at the G7, Italian President Giorgia Meloni used her position as President of the Summit to remove an endorsement of abortion.
Italy's Giorgia Meloni removed every reference to abortion in draft G7 communications, replacing them with pro-life references! This comes after Canada and France pushed for language to increase access to abortion.

The portion of the G7’s final statement Italy’s diplomats were able to remove read: “access to safe and legal abortion and post abortion care.”
Standing in opposition to Italy’s pro-family leader were two “feminist” leaders, France’s Emmanuel Macron and Canada’s Justin Trudeau.
Both insisted on keeping the pro-abortion language which was established during the 2023 G7 Summit.
President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron were both accused of using the G7 Summit to campaign for abortion for the sake of their own elections back at home and Meloni diplomatically called them out for it.
“I believe it is profoundly wrong, in difficult times like these, to campaign using a precious forum like the G7,” Meloni said.
Despite Meloni’s removal of the pro-abortion language from the final communiqué, the conference’s final statement is littered with terminology that promotes abortion, gender ideology and censorship of pro-life and pro-family views.
The final G7 communiqué commits the seven leading economic powers to promoting the following through the United Nations:
- To combat “technology facilitated gender-based violence” towards “LGTBTQI+ people.”
- This term basically translates to censorship of conservative views on human sexuality online.
- “To further promote comprehensive sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for all.”
- The term “sexual and reproductive health and rights” is known for including abortion and radical sexuality education curriculum, amongst many other anti-family issues.
- A pledge to promote homosexual and transgender issues globally.
The statement reads: “We express our strong concern about the rollback of the rights of women, girls, and LGBTQIA+ people around the world,” which includes “gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls in all their diversity.”
*NOTE: Women “in all their diversity” is a term used at nauseum at the United Nations and is understood to refer to not just biological women but individuals who are confused about their sex.
Back at home in Meloni’s home country of Italy, her administration has been marching towards a pro-family agenda which falls directly in line with her fight for the protection of women and life in the womb at the G7 Summit.
Recently, Meloni’s government passed an amendment that allows pro-family groups to enter abortion facilities and offer life affirming alternatives to women in crisis.
Amendment No. 44.028 is a provision attached to a health care system law, part of Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
This amendment will permit local public health authorities to freely collaborate with qualified third-party consultants, including non profit organizations that specialize in pregnancy and maternity support, “without new or greater burdens on public finance.”
Abortion has been legal in Italy for the first 90 days of pregnancy since 1978.
Interestingly, Article 31 of Italy’s constitution states that it is the duty of the state to assist with “the formation of the family” through “economic measures and other benefits, and “protect mothers, children, and the young by adopting necessary provisions.”
As such, this new policy of the Meloni government (which has proven to be nothing but controversial with those back at the European Union Headquarters) is consistent with the nation’s guiding document.
Pro-family administrations and the pro-life language they espouse are targets of many of the leaders present at this year’s G7 Summit, but one glimmer of hope is worthy of taking note of and praising and that is what we are seeing with Giorgia Meloni.
