Illegal Aliens Voting What To Know - Encounter Today - Vlog

52 Democrats joined Republicans on a piece of legislation to undo a Washington D.C. law that permits non-citizens to vote in local elections.

According to the New York Times, this legislation is an attempt to “amplify false claims by former President Donald J. Trump of widespread voting” by illegal aliens.

There are more than a dozen municipalities across the United States that allow non-citizen residents to vote in local elections. These locals are predominantly found in California, Vermont and Maryland.

The vote was 262 to 143 to roll back the District’s voting law so that noncitizens would be barred from participating.

The bill has very little chance of making any headway through the Democrat dominated Senate.

Opponents to the bill say this is an attempt by Republicans and Democrats, to crack down on voting by noncitizens.

So is there any justification for their concerns?

According to a study conducted by JustFacts.com, between 10-27% of non-citizen adults in the United States are illegally registered to vote.

In addition, the U.S. Census recorded more than 19 million adult non-citizens living in the United States during 2022. Given voter registration rates, this means roughly 2-5 million individuals are illegally registered to vote.

These numbers are large enough to shift election results.

True the Vote, an election integrity organization, wrote an exposé on the Voting for Aliens clause 611c3, revealing that under certain conditions, aliens are not penalized for voting if they merely believe they are citizens.

True the Vote wrote on their website:

“Given the direction of executive orders from the current administration – such as Executive Order 14019, the Biden Administration required that all federal government agencies push voter registration – particularly targeting populations where eligibility statuses cannot be effectively tracked, like students, prisoners, and non-citizens.”

Nothing about election integrity has to do with Republicans or Democrats but has everything to do with upholding the rights of Americans.

Skewed outcomes in elections affect everyone and we should be working to maintain integrity. How is this controversial?

“This is a dangerous and bad precedent, and an un-American attempt at gaining power. And it needs to be stopped here and it needs to be stopped now. We have to stand up,” said Representative Jeff Van Drew (NJ).

“Here we are today. D.C., our nation’s own capitol, allowing illegal immigrants to vote in illegal elections. Yesterday’s conspiracy. Yesterday’s conspiracy is today’s reality.”
