Fauci Linked to Creating Covid-Type Virus?

Senator Rand Paul sent letters to 15 federal agencies requesting information on newly discovered connections to a 2018 grant proposal that desired to experiment with a COVID-19-type microbe.

This is the “smoking gun” the Senator has been waiting for.

In an interview with Fox Digital, Paul claims a Marine Corps whistleblower helped expose a connection between former National Institute of Allergy & Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Fauci and the National Institute of Health, to research proving Fauci lied to the American people by lying to Congress.

“Yeah, we found out about this first from a brave Marine who reported that this research — was a grant proposal in 2018 — would have allowed Wuhan Institute to create a virus very similar to what COVID-19 turned out to be,” Paul said.

“But we only found out about this from a whistleblower — nobody else in government ever informed us, including Anthony Fauci.”

Paul recently went on The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show where he stated:

“The agencies included Anthony Fauci’s NIAID, as well as NIH, they all heard about this proposal and none of them warned us that the lab in Wuhan wanted to work on creating a virus that turns out looks very scarily similar to what covid-19 was.”

The grant proposal made by EcoHealth Alliance was called “DEFUSE Project” and was granted back in 2018.

Since the “pandemic” broke out, Paul has been leading an intense and comprehensive investigation into the virus’s origins, but the investigation was missing a key piece of evidence – until now.

The proposal was submitted to DARPA, the Department of Defense’ research agency, according to Paul, with the NIAID’s Rocky Mountain Laboratories listed as a partner in the proposal.

When Fauci was asked about the DEFUSE grant, he claimed he didn’t fund it or “know anything about it,” Paul said.

“This was his own agency … We now have proof that the NIH and the NIAID — Fauci’s agency — knew about this proposal and were part of the proposal, despite him continuing in public to say he knew nothing of this proposal.”

“This basically is a smoking gun that ties Anthony Fauci and NIH to the funding of research that may well have led to COVID-19.”

What Paul can now prove is that Fauci, along with many others, knew that the Wuhan lab was working on microbial research.

In Senate committee hearings, Paul claims Fauci lied about funding and his ties to gain-of-function research funding. Fauci scoffed at the accusations and flat out denied them:

“Senator Paul, I have never lied before Congress and I do not retract that statement. This paper that you are referring to was judged by qualified staff up and down the chain as not being gain-of-function,” Fauci said. “Senator Paul, you do not know what you are talking about, quite frankly.”

Paul went on record saying:

“Anthony Fauci, for the first several months and really for years, has tried to call anybody who believes that it came from the lab or looks at evidence that the virus came from this lab, calls them conspiracy theorists, downplays them, denigrates them.”

Providing information to the public about the research could have resulted in a greater understanding of just how real the lab-leak “theory” is.
