CONFIRMED: China Interfered in Canadian Elections

Canada’s domestic spy agency, CSIS, has opened a criminal investigation into alleged meddling in the country’s 2019 and 2021 federal elections by agents of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) commissioner Michael Duheme went on record, testifying that while he will not disclose the full details about the investigation it is currently underway.

No wonder the Liberal gov withheld these CSIS docs until 1 am this morning.

“We received information that prompted us to open an investigation,” Duheme stated.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party captured both elections held in 2019 and 2021 but both elections faced immense backlash from opposition parties debating the validity of each win and the possibility of China’s interference.
To settle the debate on whether there was foreign interference in Canada’s elections and China’s role specifically, Prime Minister Trudeau established a commission.
China's communist party interfered in Canada's 2019 and 2021 elections according to Canadian intelligence agency, CSIS. At least 18 politicians are implicated.

This week, the commission was shown a slide containing a portion of a briefing from the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) from February of 2023 which read:
“We know that the PRC (Peoples’ Republic of China) clandestinely and deceptively interfered in both the 2019 and 2021 elections.”
“In both cases, these FI (foreign interference) activities were pragmatic in nature and focused primarily on supporting those viewed to be either ‘pro-PRC’ or ‘neutral’ on issues of interest to the PRC government.”
“State actors are able to conduct foreign interference successfully in Canada because there are few legal or political consequences. FI is therefore low-risk and high-reward,” said the CSIS assessment.
According to Canada’s Rebel News journalist, Sheila Gunn Reid, “After a meeting with the PMO, CSIS withdrew a report about PRC meddling in the Liberal nomination of Han Dong in Don Valley North in 2019.”

Commission counsel Lynda Morgan asked the RCMP Commissioner several questions regarding specific constituencies throughout Canada where CCP interference may have taken place. Such questions looked like this:
“Were you made aware of an alleged foreign interference network in the Greater Toronto Area?” Morgan asked Duheme. “I don’t recall having anything in writing,” he said in reply.
Morgan pressed Duheme for answers, asking if he was “aware of any information about alleged People’s Republic of China foreign interference in the 2021 election?”
Commissioner Duheme replied that he was “not 100 percent sure if it was during the election.”
This is a long clip, but I left it in full because I want you to see the weird evasive squirming of CSIS.

This is particularly of interest seeing as the RCMP gave testimony at the House of Commons Special Committee on Canada-China Relations in 2021 that they had received hundreds of tips alleging CCP agents were engaging in clandestine activities.
Brenda Lucki, the former RCMP commissioner, testified that they receive an average of 120 tips a day.
Testimonies given at the Commission have revealed that former Conservative Party MP Kenny Chiu said he felt “betrayed” by the federal government after learning he was the target of CCP agents. Canada’s Chief Electoral Officer Stéphane Perrault has also revealed how he was secretly warned by security agents of irregularities in the 2019 election as well.
“We know that the PRC clandestinely and deceptively interfered in both the 2019 and 2021 general elections,” said the report, as well as saying, “at least 18 candidates and 13 staff members were implicated in PRC foreign interference networks.”
The ongoing investigation will include an undisclosed number of people who were active in the 2021 campaign.
