J.K Rowling “Deliberately Defiant” of 'Hate Crime' Law - Encounter Today - Blog

After the passage of a “hate crime” bill in Scotland, author of the famous “Harry Potter” books, JK Rowling dared Scottish police to arrest her.

According to the Scottish government, the new piece of legislation only applies to Scotland and “introduces new offences for threatening or abusive behaviour which is intended to stir up hatred based on prejudice towards characteristics including age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, transgender identity and variations in sex characteristics.”

The Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act expands a pre-existing law which prohibits the “stirring up of hatred” which was outlawed in the UK in 1986, however, this particular law only banned actions which stirred “racial hatred” and the new law includes a plethora of additional factors.

Rowling, who resides in Scotland, took to X to post a thread which discusses individuals who identify as “transgender” who have committed sex crimes, as well as laying out how gender ideology has a negative effect on women.

“I’m currently out of the country, but if what I’ve written here qualifies as an offence under the terms of the new act, I look forward to being arrested when I return to the birthplace of the Scottish Enlightenment,” Rowling posting using the hashtag #ArrestMe

Rowling posted the lawmakers “have placed higher value on the feelings of men performing their idea of femaleness, however, misogynistically or opportunistically, than on the rights and freedoms of actual women and girls.”

A sound statement if we ever read one!

Explaining further, Rowling believes that the law is “wide open to abuse” and how “Scottish women have been pressured by their government and members of the police force to deny the evidence of their eyes and ears, repudiate biological facts and embrace a neo-religious concept of gender that is unprovable and untestable.”

“Freedom of speech and belief are at an end in Scotland if the accurate description of biological sex is deemed criminal,” Rowling commented, bringing forth the brutal reality this bill has on society.

Mocking those who were calling for an investigation into the “Harry Potter” author, Rowling confirmed that she had been “DELIBERATELY DEFIANT” of the new law.

Well know Christian author, Eric Metaxas posted on X “If your pastor isn’t this brave, get another church” and he is absolutely correct! Why should it be a secular author with the loudest voice speaking and taking a stand in direct defiance of a law which is an absolute farce!

To prove just how much of a farce the Scottish Hate Crime Act really is, there have now been over 3,800 reports of ‘hate’ filed this past Monday alone. Those reported range from JK Rowling to Scotland’s First Minister Humza Yousaf. The ruling party’s own law is blowing up in their faces and it is amusing to witness.
