Canada To Criminalize Scripture?
A bill which could criminalize anyone who quotes scriptures that the government deems could be “anti semitic” is currently being debated in the Canadian Parliament. The Bill is C-367.

If passed, Bill C-367 could land Christians in jail for quoting the Bible or expressing a faith based opinion if the Canadian government deems it “promotion of hatred or antisemitism”.
This is an absolute disgrace. pic.twitter.com/Bq8zT8N3J9
Under Canada’s Criminal Code, certain protections are in place that have made it very difficult for Christians to be charged with any kind of “hate crime.” The “religious exemption” portion of the Code that is of utmost significance and is found in Section 39 which reads: “No person shall be convicted of a [hate crime] offense… if, in good faith, the person expressed or attempted to establish by an argument an opinion on a religious subject or an opinion based on a belief in a religious text.”
Simply put, Canadian Christians have every right to quote the Bible, just as Muslims and Buddhists and Jews have every right to share their religion! This is a right that is, at present, protected under the Criminal Code but is also a Constitutional matter in Canada as it is included in Canada’s freedom of expression.
Under threat of jail-time, this bill will silence Christians who oppose the woke ideology Prime Minister Trudeau has promoted as the true law of the land.
If this Christophobic bill passes, as it most probable seeing as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party members alongside the Bloc Quebecois and the NDP (socialist party) will vote for it, freedom of expression, freedom of religion and freedom of speech could all be crushed in one foul swoop!
The Bible is the Word of God, it is truth and it is life. Is it any wonder that in a society moved and swayed by mere feelings that Christians are faced with a bill that helps those who see it as an affront to their lifestyle and pride?
Manitoba Pastor Henry Hildebrandt has already signaled that he will obey God and not bow to the wicked policies of man.
Bill 367 is being debated in Canadian Parliament, which could criminalize quoting scriptures. Mr @JustinTrudeau if you pass this into law I will obey God rather than man and, I suspect, many others. All the jackboots in the world can't stop God's Word. And they've tried. pic.twitter.com/Juw3WtmB4h

Where is the “tolerance” that has become this generation’s predominant woke religious tenant?
The Word of God pierces the hearts of man, it changes us and this is why moves are being taken to stop it from being shared with others, whether that be online or in the streets of communities across Canada.
How bizarre that under the guise of cracking down on anti semitism, that Christians, who are arguably the strongest religious sect to support and defend the Jewish people, are the ones who may face jail time for sharing their faith publicly!
Truly, what is happening in Canada?
Examples of discrimination against Christians in Canada:
- Bill Whatcott gave out leaflets warning of the medical and spiritual dangers of the LGBT lifestyle and was subsequently accused of “hate crimes” against homosexuals for it.
- Several Canadian pastors have been accused of “hate crimes” for speaking out against the sexualization of children, as well as promoting the Biblical sexual ethic. Pastor Derek Reimer is one example of someone who was vindicated from the accusation of “hate.”
Jesus is “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6) – saying this in Canada could be deemed criminal thanks to this bill as it could be considered “discriminatory” against other religions. Though there is a rise in anti-Semitism not just in Canada, but across the globe, is the best-suited answer to it the elimination of other religious freedom? Seems more than just a little extreme.
Pre-existing laws already exist in Canada to deal with anyone advocating for the elimination of the Jewish people, but instead of enforcing the law, just like many other governments, Canada’s may just usher in new laws that have a further reach into the lives and freedoms of Canadians. Although this article is addressing Christians, this bill is a threat to all religions.
Those that proclaim the name of Jesus were warned that there would indeed be persecution (Matthew 10:16-25) and even more so as the day approaches His return. Although we do not look to politics as the primary indicator of the Lord’s return, it is a sign of the times in which we live.
Canada’s national motto is “a mari usque ad mare,” quoted from Psalm 72:8, which says that Christ shall have dominion “from sea to sea.” Indeed, it is even inscribed on her houses of government. May this radical policy wake people up and cause there to be a shift, a turning of the hearts of the nation, from the houses of government to family homes, towards the truth of the gospel and may Christians find uncommon favor amidst this persecution. May Christians in Canada understand their authority and spread the gospel without fear or intimidation “from sea to sea” both now and in the years to come.
If God be for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)
