Dystopian Brain Implant Launched
Elon Musk has announced the first implantation of the Neuralink brain implant saying, “Initial results show promising neuron spike detection.”
Musk also stated that the first Neuralink product called Telepathy enables “control of your phone or computer, and through them almost any device, just by thinking.”
Some call Musk’s Neuralink dystopian whilst others label it as an innovative technology.
On the positive side of this rather impressive technology, Neuralink’s primary users will be those who’ve lost use of their limbs by the integration of machines and human beings. “Imagine if Stephen Hawking could communicate faster than a speed typist or auctioneer…That is the goal,” Musk said on X.

Initial users will be those who have lost the use of their limbs.
Imagine if Stephen Hawking could communicate faster than a speed typist or auctioneer. That is the goal.
Is this the full, comprehensive goal of this project, however?
It is surprising that in 2024, many have yet to hear of transhumanism which is, in its simplest form, integrating humans with machines to increase human capabilities beyond that of “non-enhanced” human beings.
In addition to Musk’s Neuralink, 40 separate companies are seeking to bring forward similar computer-brain interfaces. Just like governments who propose legislation based upon a small element of a bill to make it sound more palatable to the general public, we see Neuralink and other companies utilizing a similar method. And it’s pretty smart honestly because who wouldn’t want to help those who are disabled through any means possible including through tech? Remove the positive capabilities of this technology, however, and we can see just how damaging it could be to humanity.
If, through biotechnology, humanity could be manipulated, “enhanced” or retrofitted to obtain infinite amounts of information and extended life spans, would we be better off? And just because we now have the ability to do so, should we?
Transhumanists would say “yes”. They also say the integration of humanity with machines shouldn’t stop with increasing abilities through the mind but go so far as believing it is perfectly okay to manipulate human genes to help create “superhumans” who would far exceed those who have not experienced “enhancement.”
According to Ray Kurzweil, a transhumanist and futurist who works at Google, such “superhumans” would speedily absorb all the internet has to offer whilst being able to experience boundless pleasure.
Suffering would be non-existent as such “superhumans” would possess Godlike control over all aspects of their being. This may sound intriguing but we, as believers, must take a step back and analyze how this would actually impact the life course of each and every human individual? One critical aspect of our time on earth is our mortality. We are spirits which occupy a body for a period of time as God designed but to the transhumanist, bypassing mortality is one of the desired results of human modification. There are multiple layers of how this would impact an individual.
Another notable voice in this distorted sphere is the second in command at the World Economic Forum, Yuval Noah Harari, who described a future where powerful computing technology will create two new classes of people: those who are “useless people” and those who are “superhuman beings.”
Harari stated that we will “soon have the power to re-engineer our bodies and brains, whether it is with genetic engineering or by directly connecting brains to computers, or by creating completely non-organic entities, artificial intelligence which is not based at all on the organic body and the organic brain. And these technologies are developing at break-neck speed.”
And again the question arises, just because we have this ability, does that mean we should use it?
We don’t believe so.
Pursuits of godlike intelligence, abilities and eternal life are all a part of transhumanism and are yet another attempt by man to be like God. We know how disastrous for humanity previous attempts were; in the Garden of Eden and in the building of the tower of Babel.
To the transhumanist, people are crackable codes full of complexities that can be categorized and shifted by human hands. What an insult to our Creator! From the seen to the unseen aspects of who we are, our Creator God made us distinctly different from the rest of creation by choosing to make us in His image and likeness. Not one person can be remade by human hands.
Whilst we’re at it, what an insult the idea is to our Creator God that humanity is fundamentally similar to man-made computers. Where is the correlation between the two? Due to our abilities to carry and transmit information, transhumanists view us as programmable in order to fully translate information across the living-nonliving divide.
How deceived this generation is! Humanity cannot fit into the same category as some mere programmable machine nor can God’s design be improved upon. We were warned that deception in the end times will run rampant and the emergence of transhumanism is a part of that deception campaign. (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12)
Perspective
God desires flourishing amongst His creation – most especially that which is created in His image. As this is His desire, shouldn’t it be ours as well? And shouldn’t we seek to protect His most cherished of all His creation from those which seek to corrupt that which He called “very good”? (Genesis 1)
Every person has a soul and lives in a body. When we become born again, we are given the same power that raised Jesus from the dead as it says in Romans 8:11: “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.”
The power and life eternal transhumanists desire isn’t hackable, transmittable or able to be obtained through a chip in a person’s brain. These can only come through true repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ as one’s personal Lord and Saviour. There is no replacement for the transformational power found in the blood of Jesus. Transhumanists cannot alter the terms which make provision for eternal life. (edited)
