Sweden Warned, “Brace for War”
“There could be war in Sweden,” that’s the warning Swedish defense officials issued as they inch towards joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) later this year.
The public haven’t taken the news well.
“People in Sweden are PANIC buying emergency supplies after the government and military warned that people have to be prepared for war,” tweeted the X user @amuse, an account dedicated to supporting independent journalists.

After seeing posts on TikTok discussing the possibility of war, Bris, a Swedish children’s rights organization has seen an increased number of calls from children concerned about their safety.
“For a nation for whom peace has been a pleasant companion for almost 210 years, the idea that it is an immovable constant is conveniently close at hand,” Swedish Civil Defense Minister Carl-Oskar Bohlin stated, “There could be war in Sweden.”
Swedish Defense Minister Pål Jonson also issued a warning saying, “An armed attack against Sweden cannot be ruled out,” GB News reported.
If we look beyond Sweden’s application to join NATO, we start to see a much bigger picture.
The reason behind this warning is, in part, tied to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, which experts claim was sparked partially because of Ukraine’s ties to NATO deepening. There is a threat to Russia if those applying to join NATO all gain a seat at the table.
Finland, for example, is a recent NATO addition that received a warning from Russia in December which communicated that it would be the “first to suffer” should relations continue to deteriorate.
“Look at the news from Ukraine and ask yourself the simple questions: If this happens here, am I prepared? What should I do?” Byden told local news station SVT on Monday. “The more people who have thought, considered, and prepared, the stronger our society will be.”
Sweden’s ex-prime minister Magdalena Andersson said while the security situation is serious, “it is not as if war is just outside the door.”
The country’s application for NATO membership is pending, now only requiring the endorsement of Hungary and Turkey.
Matthew 24:6-8
“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains. 9 Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.”
If it wasn’t obvious before, it most certainly is now – we are living in the days described to us in Matthew 24, days where nations are rising against one another, whilst others are forming strategic alliances that are setting the scene, not only for a one world governing system but for those who seek the destruction of Israel.
Keep a watchful eye on these events and be ever prayerful.
Whilst such events may cause us to be concerned, they should never inspire fear but excitement for we are the ones that God chose to stand in our nations in these last days. The ones whom He trusted to speak the truth, those who are filled with hope, for we know what is to come.
Share that hope, people need to hear it!
