Biden Leaves Border Open, Declares January Human Trafficking Prevention Month
President Biden has proclaimed January as Human Trafficking Prevention Month which has sparked outrage as Americans believe he is responsible for the record-breaking levels of human-smuggling along the US-Mexico border.
The White House issued the declaration calling for “safe, orderly, and humane migration” as if no one in America has seen the insane scenes at the southern border. In addition to this, the declaration was made while Biden was in St. Croix vacationing at a donor’s home whilst the country is quite literally being invaded.
Embarrassingly for Biden, a Pew Research poll shows that a measly 32% of Americans believe Biden could make “wise decisions about immigration policy.”
The Experts Weigh In
“President Biden’s open border policies have undeniably unleashed a persistent tidal wave of illegal immigration pouring across our borders, resulting in the United States being complicit in the world’s largest human smuggling and trafficking operation in modern history,” said Mark Morgan who is the former acting commissioner of US Customs and Border Protection.
“It’s just disgusting that he wants to declare human trafficking awareness month,” and we couldn’t agree more. “If anybody needs to be aware of human trafficking, it’s him. He’s enriched the human traffickers because of his lack of enforcing the border,” Homan said. “They’re making record amounts of money moving record amounts of people because of his intentional un-securing of the border,” said Tom Homan, the former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
“More than 27 million people around the world endure the abhorrent abuse of human trafficking and forced labor, including thousands of people right here in the United States,” Biden’s statement read. “It is a threat to global security, public safety, and human dignity.”
Homan stated that much of the border region is controlled by the cartel that traffics migrants as they are financially indentured to smugglers after being processed by US authorities.
“They come over, then they’ve got to pay off fees and a lot of them don’t even know what they’re getting into — some of the women are forced into prostitution, others are forced into labor,” Homan said.
Heartbreakingly, Homan also stated, “There are over 400,000 [unaccompanied] children that have been smuggled across the border [since 2021] and there have already been three or four separate investigations finding these children working in meatpacking plants at midnight and being in forced labor, not going to school,” he added. “That’s the work of traffickers.
What’s Happening At the Border?
“As a matter of fact, this month alone, there are five different occasions that I’m aware of where on sectors of the border, there wasn’t a single uniform on patrol because of the overwhelming number— they’re pulling everybody in for processing. That’s when the cartels traffic women and children. That’s when the cartels move the fentanyl, that’s when they move the gang members and criminals that don’t want to turn themselves in,” Homan said.
Reports show that roughly 276,000 people were detained for illegally crossing the southern border in the first 27 days of December which exceeds the record for September which was around 270,000.
A record of 2.5 million people were apprehended for illegally crossing the US-Mexico border in 2023. Shockingly, the 2.5 million doesn’t even include an estimated 670,000 gotaways (those who aren’t arrested and disappear into the U.S.).
Each year since Biden has been in office, the number of illegal migrants flooding the southern border has been on a dramatic incline from 1.7 million in 2021 to 2.4 million in 2022 to 2.5 million in 2023.
Under President Trump’s administration, funding was allocated for the construction of a border wall for the protection of American citizens and as a defence against human traffickers seeking to use the United States’ southern border as an avenue for smuggling. Unfortunately, Biden has halted construction of the wall whilst terminating the “Remain in Mexico” policy which required many asylum seekers to wait in Mexico until their case was heard in court.
Conclusion
Immigration has steadily become a policy issue cloaked in controversy. However, upon the announcement that President Trump was indeed “building the wall” at the southern border in defense of the nation, many rejoiced including those who fight human trafficking.
Proverbs 29:2 says, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn,” there couldn’t be a more appropriate verse to explain the feeling Americans have around our current happenings.
Biden’s open border policy not only negatively impacts the lives of American citizens but impacts those being trafficked into the nation. Biden can make declarations against human trafficking until he is blue in the face but that won’t deter traffickers from bringing thousands of vulnerable men, women and children to an open border and crossing it.
