The Methodist Church Labels ‘Husband’ and ‘Wife’ “Offensive”
Methodist ministers have been instructed to cease using the terms ‘husband’ and ‘wife’ as they are “offensive” and “convey an assumption that is not the reality for many people.”

This is not Christianity.
What has become abundantly clear is that it is no longer acceptable to merely acknowledge differing lifestyles that are completely disordered, we must now reject the very things which God ordained and have been the norm since the beginning of time.
It is bizarre to think that ministers are being told to stop using language because it “isn’t the reality” of minority groups. One would think that a church would ask themselves the question, “was Jesus ever offensive with the message he brought?” The answer is a resounding yes, yes he was offensive both to society, as well as the religious leaders all around him.
According to the standard set by the Methodist Church, does that mean we should also stop sharing the Gospel with others because it’s not their “reality”? Absolutely not!
The words of Jesus are still offensive to other religions and the culture but now, it is also offensive to churches! I’ll let you in on a not-so-secret, secret: Christianity is exclusive! In addition to this, inclusivity isn’t even a Christian virtue despite what “pastors” who are sold out to the religion of wokeness tell you.
Disorder and Chaos
The love of man cannot trump the fear of God. If it does, there will be disorder and chaos.
As Reverend Calvin Robinson stated in his Substack regarding the issue, “The school of thought identified as Critical Theories is a contemporary take on Marxism and the theories of Karl Marx. This neo-Marxism is an amended, extended and adapted form of Marxism to deal with 20th/21st century worldviews.”
Robinson also made a valuable point regarding the inclusivity of alternate lifestyles saying, “Liberals would argue that in order to be inclusive, we must take on board that some lifestyles do not include a husband and a wife but rather two husband and two wives. In some cases, we are even seeing a push towards polygamy, not only breaking down the heterosexual element of marriage but also the equally important monogamous aspect.”
Contrary to what the current cultural narrative dictates, just as all cultures are not equal neither are all lifestyles. Disorder, which is not of God, produces chaos and leads to destruction. Whether it be a Marxist government or an individual living an LGBT lifestyle, anything trying to function outside the bounds of what God our Creator has ordained cannot produce the order we crave.
Calvinson continued saying, “Liberalism is the entry mechanism for Marxism, which is quite literally evil, undermining God’s order. Liberalism teaches that heteronormativity is an option among other options. Marxism, via Critical Theories, teaches that heteronormativity must be destroyed.”
The outright banning of the terms ‘husband’ and ‘wife’ displays a support for Marxism as it stands in solidarity with destroying heteronormativity which God established.
Who Will We Serve?
We will be marked by what we choose to worship whether that be God or man, as for the Methodist Church (if we can even call it a “church” anymore), that decision has clearly been made.
The devil’s disorder which has been deceivingly masked by “diversity” and “tolerance” is no substitute for God’s design which produces human flourishing and order.
Just as one cannot call themselves a socialist and a Christian, one cannot call themselves a communist and a Christian for no one can serve two masters (Matthew 6:24) and communism is all encompassing, it is indeed a master.
Christianity Is Exclusive
The church’s love is inclusive, as we love sinners for we were once counted among them, and thankfully, our God sent us a means of coming back into a relationship with him, by accepting Jesus. This makes Christianity exclusive.
We may all “come as we are” but Jesus doesn’t leave us where we are!
No amount of inclusivity “preaching” or policy changes can bring about the transformative change which only comes when we die to ourselves, receive Christ and walk the narrow and exclusive road (Matthew 7:13-20).
In the words of Reverend Robinson, “Diversity, inclusion and equity are not Christian virtues; we cannot keep the labels we have given ourselves. There is no such thing as a gay, trans or black; we cannot hold onto the world and Christ at the same time – we must choose which one we want to embrace. Choose Christ.”
As many denominations choose to follow the enticement of the world (Mark 8:36), we have another option, to exclusively follow Christ and model that lifestyle for others. As believers, we cannot afford to live by an “anything goes” kind of mentality, Jesus most certainly didn’t! Who are we to believe that could possibly be acceptable if Jesus didn’t model it for us?
Churches are not community centers or branches of the government, we need not pander to the whims of an ever changing society. What society needs are people with a fiery faith who do not buckle when standing in defense of absolute truth, truth which can set people free and help shake them from the delusions that have engulfed them.
“Take heed that no one deceives you.” Matthew 24:4b
“No one who practices deceit shall dwell in my house; no one who utters lies shall continue before my eyes.” Psalm 101:7
