Detransitioner Sues American Academy of Pediatrics

A Florida woman who underwent medical transition, is suing the American Academy of Pediatrics and her doctors in Rhode Island.

Isabelle Ayala, now 20, alleges she was taken through the “transitioning” process at warp speed by “a collection of actors who prioritized politics and ideology over children’s safety, health, and well-being.”

Speaking to The New York Post, Ayala said, “I just really don’t want this to happen to other vulnerable young girls… I don’t want puberty to be the enemy. I don’t want our natural biology to be the enemy.”

Like so many young children who develop confusion around their identity and sexuality, Ayala devastatingly revealed how she resented her femininity after she began puberty at eight years old and was sexually assaulted. She said, “I decided to transition because of just a series of unfortunate things that I had tied to being female. And those things made me hate being female.”

Tumblr became a safe haven for the vulnerable child who thought at the time that being in an activist community was “going to fix me.” Whilst in the group, Ayala learned of ways to obtain a testosterone prescription swiftly by saying she was suicidal and it worked. After being referred to a gender facility, she was diagnosed with gender dysphoria where a “transgender health expert” named Dr. Jason Rafferty stated she “would benefit from being put on cross-sex hormones.”

The doctor who put Ayala on puberty blockers is Dr. James Rafferty who is the chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ LGBTQ+ Health and Wellness Committee.

Ayala — who claims she was the “guinea pig” of Rafferty’s developing guidance — has also sued the AAP for underplaying the risks of treatment.
Several other victims of the transition scam have sued medical providers, however, Ayala’s case is the first to target the AAP directly.

The lawsuit claims her doctors “falsely represented that cross-sex hormone therapy was the only treatment option available to Isabelle to effectively treat her gender dysphoria, as well as her anxiety, depression, PTSD and suicidality.”

Remember that claim of being suicidal that Ayala used to obtain a testosterone prescription? Well, she actually did attempt suicide after going through the transitioning process.

Ayala filed her lawsuit in October, naming seven doctors and 15 John Does she accuses of “civil conspiracy, fraud and medical malpractice.”

According to The New York Post, Ayala’s lawyer, Jordan Campbell says, “There was zero mental health diagnosis, zero psycho behavioral diagnosis, nothing other than simply taking Isabelle’s word for what she needed.”

Perspective

The medical field’s insistence on harm over care is driving young, impressionable children, like Alaya, to reach for irreversible surgeries to address issues residing within their hearts. Issues that only their Creator can address surrounding their identity that the Word of God has answers to.

God’s not willing that any child nor adult should experience the bombardment of confusion that so many are walking through today. On top of that, He despises when the vulnerable are preyed upon and exploited (Psalm 82:3-4, Psalm 140:12, Proverbs 31:8-9).

We are the extension of God’s love here on earth, and as such, following through with what God calls us to do in Isaiah 1:17 is one way of expressing that love.

How can we “Learn to do right” on this matter?

Just as with any issue, we must first learn what the Bible has to say about identity and human sexuality and then teach the truth to our children and then share it with our sphere of influence, which can be online and/or in person. The answers to any crisis will always be found in the Word of God.

How can we “seek justice” on this matter?

Look into what your State laws are on protecting children from surgical transitioning, as well as access to puberty blockers. If your State isn’t a part of the coalition of States that have banned gender mutilation surgeries for children, contact your State Representative and schedule a brief in-person meeting and request that they protect our vulnerable youth.

How can we “Defend the oppressed” on this matter?

We can share stories like Alaya’s and others like Chloe Cole who have been taken advantage of by a greedy medical system. Sharing individual stories puts a face on the issue and helps people to understand the real-world impacts coercive agendas have.
