Was China’s Global Domination Just Thwarted?!
What’s happening
Italy’s new Conservative Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, has officially informed Beijing of her country’s withdrawal from the Communist regime’s scheme towards global domination through the Belt and Road Initiative, a pet project of China’s President Xi Jinping.
This is a huge blow for the Communist regime which has been seeking to use the project to colonize countries with assistance from nations like Italy.
History
China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects of modern times. Launched by President Xi Jinping in 2013, the vast collection of development and investment initiatives was originally devised to link East Asia and Europe through physical and even digital infrastructure.
In 2019, Italy’s government sought increased investments and economic development into the country from the Communist regime, as such, then PM Giuseppe Conte became the first member of the G7 to join the BRI project.
Even though investments promised by the Communist regime were never completely fulfilled, after the deal between Italy and China was signed off on, pro-China propaganda started to fill Italian media headlines.
Where Do Other Countries Stand with China?
If you thought Italy’s previous administration was the only government with controversial sympathies towards the Communist regime, think again. Just across our northern border, it was exposed that Canada’s Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, had Canada’s armed forces train China’s military in winter warfare. This comes as a surprise even after the PM stated, “There’s a level of admiration I actually have for China because their basic dictatorship is allowing them to actually turn their economy around on a dime…”
Here in America, Chinese investors have been strategically purchasing land close to military bases all across the United States. At present, some 384,000 acres of forest and farmland is owned by Chinese investors.
What’s Happening to Curb China’s Dominance at Home?
Thankfully, in the United States, Governors like Kristi Noem of South Dakota have been proactive in fighting the advancement of the Communist regime on American soil. The U.S. Senate has also recently passed a ban on China and other adversaries from buying up American farmland and there are currently discussions around mitigating threats posed by apps like TikTok which are owned by China.
China’s Alliances Tell a Bigger Story
While Italy was the only G7 member to join the BRI scheme, several countries within the European Union have done so as well. However, Italy’s withdrawal from the BRI could very well prompt other nations within the European Union to do the same.
China’s dominance isn’t absolute as many make it out to be. Due to the debilitating one-child policy which was only done away with in recent years, the country now has a lack of marriages and children being born. As such, China has hit its peak and will start to see dramatic reductions in its population as more people age out of the workforce.
The Chinese regime is losing its grasp on its goal of global dominance as nations with Judeo-Christian roots are starting to shift towards policies that take seriously the stewardship of the sovereignty that God gave them.
Perspective
In the end times, many nations, likely including China, will try their hand at conquest by various means.
As events unfold, we will see nations establish coalitions. For some. their primary goal will be the destruction of Israel whether they publicly announce it or not.
As countries begin rejecting China (the nation once believed would rise as the next global superpower) will her alliance with nations who despise Israel be strengthened as we’re witnessing with Russia and Iran?
Ultimately, the fight of these countries will be against God. Make no doubt about it, He will serve justice upon them (Genesis 12:3).
